Megabonus is a cashback service initially launched for the Russian community as Alibonus however it has been translated into English and then re-branded into Megabonus
After you make an account on the megabonus.com website you have to install the Firefox/Chrome plugin which when activated tracks your Megabonus purchases through an affiliate link, in return earning you cashback for your purchases on websites and offers supported by Megabonus. (Currently, 346 stores are supported for me however there might be more stores available for other people in other locations )
Megabonus gets paid by Aliepxress when you purchase something on Aliexpress and then they share the commission with you.
All earnings are put on pending at first as Megabonus has to wait for those orders to be confirmed as received, then they receive their commission from Aliexpress and then you can finally withdraw your earnings.
This can take quite a long time depending where your orders are going as you will have to wait around 20-40 days to confirm the order as delivered (unless you want to straight up confirm the orders as received in Aliexpress for the sole purpose of receiving cashback faster, I do not recommend this as it will be harder to dispute any undelivered orders on Aliexpress)
When applicable, the Alibonus plugin will notify you that your cashback isn’t active and a simple button press will activate the cashback.
After confirming a few orders and waiting a while, I decided to cash out around $7 to test the service, I used PayPal for this, after clicking withdraw the total time I had to wait before they sent me my payment was around 7 days. I have also used WebmoneyWMZ to process my withdrawals which is a Russian wallet service similar to Paypal which later allowed me to finally withdraw my money to my bank account via wire transfer(There is a small PayPal and WebmoneyWMZ fee when withdrawing).
Loyalty Program
Megabonus has a loyalty program that is basically a tier system that at each level gives you an increasing amount of extra cashback, starting at an extra 7% and finally being capped at 50%. Note: this does not mean you will be getting 50% off the product price, you will be getting an extra 50% of the base cashback
Mathematician = 3,27% + (3,27 * 7%) = 3,27 + 0,23 = 3,50%
Master of Coin = 3,27% + (3,27 * 50%) = 3,27 + 1.635 = 4.9%
Note that the maximum cashback amount per order is capped depending on your loyalty level:
This service is essential if you dropship from Aliexpress as you’d be throwing away extra money, just think about how many orders you process every month on average.
Here are some of my payouts that are from the extra cashback Fun fact: In 2016, Megabonus gave you up to 10% cashback from Aliexpress which could have been doubled for a total 20% if you purchased Aliexpress Pocket points first and then made a purchase (for example $100 worth of points would give you $10 cashback and then spending $100 worth of Aliexpress points would give you another $10).
After a few months, getting cashback from Aliexpress Pocket was disabled by Aliexpress and then some time later Megabonus had to lower their max cashback to around 5%
Price drop alert
The Megabonus extension comes with a nice price drop alert which when enabled notifies you when the price of a product drops, all you have to do is open up a product page and click on the extension and in the home tab tick the slider shown in the picture below.
Megabonus vs Backit (epnCashback)
There is a competitor cashback service called Backit (epnCashback) , it works the same way Megabonus does however these 2 offer different features and commission percentages.
For example for one of the most popular websites, Aliexpress, you can get from 2.4% – 4.9% cashback on Megabonus while on Backit(epnCashback) you can get 2% – 6% (these thresholds encompass the different cashback % you can get for different store categories)
Both the services have their own extensions with some cool features, in contrast to the Megabonus price drop alert feature, Backit has a price history feature that shows you a graph of the price of the product you’re currently viewing has been like for the last week-2months.
I feel like this could be improved as it only lets you view the last week-2months.
Also the Backit extension lacks features like parcel tracking and showing the cashback amount you will receive on the individual product pages like Megabonus does.
You can invite your friends and get paid for any cashback they acquire, Megabonus offers a straight 50% of your friends cashback for 6 months while Backit offers two different programs to choose from which both last forever.
Megabonus and Backit both support the popular Paypal and WebmoneyWMZ withdrawals, unfortunately there isn’t an option to withdraw your money without any fees.
Both the services come with benefits however it all depends on which store/offer you’re planning to take advantage off as they all have different commission structures.
