Thinking about of starting a dropshipping business? Check out this new guide here
On July 21st the Alibonus team introduced a new update, re-branding Alibonus as Megabonus and adding a lot of new cashback possibilities for other stores depending on where you live.
How it works
Alibonus is a cashback service initially launched for the Russian community however it has been translated into English and as of recently you can also withdraw earnings using Paypal.
After you make an account on the alibonus.com website you have to install the Firefox/Chrome plugin which when activated tracks your Aliexpress purchases through an affiliate link, in return earning you cashback for your purchases on Aliexpress.
Alibonus gets paid when you purchase something on Aliexpress and then they share the commission with you from Aliexpress.
All earnings are put on pending at first as Alibonus has to wait for those orders to be confirmed as received first then they receive their commission from Aliexpress and then you can finally withdraw your earnings.
If you’re a dropshipper, this can take quite a long time depending where your orders are going as you will have to wait around 20-40 days to confirm the order as delivered (unless you want to straight up confirm the orders as received in Aliexpress for the sole purpose of receiving cashback faster, I do not recommend this as it will be harder to dispute any undelivered orders on Aliexpress)
When applicable, the Alibonus plugin will notify you that your cashback isn’t active and a simple button press will activate the cashback.
After confirming a few orders and waiting a while, I decided to cash out around $7 to test the service, I used PayPal for this as I cannot use any other methods as I’m not from Russia, after clicking withdraw the total time I had to wait before they sent me my payment was around 7 days.
If you use PayPal for withdrawals some fees will apply, this is taken from the Alibonus help section, excuse the poor translation the original post is in Russian
Note: Rubles = Russian currency, in our case it will be USD
You can read more about the PayPal fee system here https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/cross-border-and-conversion-fees#crossborder
Starting May 31st 2017, Alibonus has lowered the max commission rate from 10% to 8.25% due to Aliexpress lowering the affiliate earnings, as a result all cashback websites had to lower the commission.
Alibonus puts you on a tier system that at each level gives you an increasing amount of cashback %, starting at 5.5%
7% and finally being capped at 8.25% 10%
The max rank is capped at 8.25%
10% cashback and can be reached by saving a total of $2584.
This service is essential if you dropship from Aliexpress as you’d be throwing away extra money, just think about how many orders you process every month on average and then add 8.25% to that.
I have seen some comments in regards to what would happen once you withdrew a large amount, I have used Alibonus for a long time now and they always pay, here is my list of payments so far which are far larger than the previous $7
There is a competitor cashback service called epnCashback , it works the same way Alibonus does however these 2 offer different commission percentages
|Cashback % on All Products||10%||7%|
|Cashback % on Special Offers||–||up to 15%|
|Platforms||Aliexpress||10 Different Platforms including Gearbest|
Alibonus offers 10% commission on all products while epnCashback offers 7% however you can get up to 15% on “Special Offers” meaning on selected products, an example can be seen below
This makes epnCashback good for one off purchases and Alibonus for all round usage and especially for dropshipping.
